Are you thinking of taking a cruise vacation?
Worried about having too few activities to enjoy on board?
Don’t be!
Long gone are the days when relaxing on sun loungers, playing cards, and taking part in scheduled evening games were the only activities available aboard cruise ships. Nowadays, however, you won’t get bored on a ship because there are numerous activities awaiting you!
In fact, the entertainment options on today’s cruise ships can be so many that you might even decide to retire to your room for some alone time. Which, of course, is completely OK too. After all, one of the primary draws of a cruise vacation is the ability to unwind.
Here are some activities for your next cruise vacation!
1. Karaoke!
When is karaoke ever NOT fun?! It’s just one of those things that are hard to hate! But, if you think you’re not the “on-stage” type, watching strangers up there can definitely be fun. So grab yourself a nice drink and people-watch as they either blow you away with their magnificent voice or have you laughing at them making a fool out of themselves until you get a belly ache.
2. Dance Parties!
Of course, even cruise ships have nightlife consisting of lots of dancing, drinks, and fun. If you’re lucky, you might even get to enjoy a themed one – which just doubles the fun. Before boarding the cruise, check out if they have themed parties planned and try to pack accordingly. Some of the most common ones we’ve seen are the 70s/80s, white hot, or Hollywood-themed parties.
3. Stargazing!
If you’re not the partying type either, a cruise will provide lots of quiet space for you and your thoughts. The night sky above foreign waters will be among the most breathtaking ones you’ll ever see. For an optimal experience, wait until the ship is far away from the city and find a spot with minimal light. Or you might want to find your way to the observation deck for this one.
4. Sunsets & Sunrises!
Again, if you’re one to find peace and comfort within nature, this is something you don’t want to miss while on a cruise. Sure, you’ve seen thousands of sunrises and sunsets over the course of your life, but there’s just something about leaning on the railing of the cruise, drink in hand, and that “life is good” feeling sinking in.
5. Broadway!
Getting Broadway tickets can definitely break the bank in the real world – but guess where they won’t? Out at sea! If you’re a fan of theatre, this is one option to look out for. The options you might get include “Cats,” “Hairspray,” “Jersey Boys,” “Mamma Mia,” “Priscilla,” “Rock of Ages,” “Saturday Night Fever,” and many more classics, depending on the cruise you select.
There’s absolutely no reason to worry about being bored on a cruise ship! You’re bound to have a good time.
