Fans are always excited to see their favorite celebrities walking the red carpet in designer gowns and suits, while others listen for other matters: like when the stars get raw and real about their life. In the recent Grammy Awards, a lot of people praised Bebe Rexha for talking about what she’s going through.
To be fair, the singer has always been vocal about her mental health, but it still was surprisingly admirable that she explained it in an interview on the red carpet. When asked about her newest album, Bebe explained that she talked about personal matters such as her bipolar diagnosis and relationships in her songs.
The Grammy nominee’s new songs also discussed insecurities, which we all are familiar with. Bebe also shared that others are all about the fears she has.
Speaking of fears, the 30-year-old said that hers were filing, not belonging, and not being good enough. To keep it real, Bebe admitted she was nervous about meeting other musicians during the night that honored the bests in the industry.
The You Can’t Stop the Girl hitmaker is an open book when it comes to what she deals with, be it good or bad. Just before the Grammys, Bebe took to Instagram to air her frustrations over designers who refused to make a dress for her for the event because of her size.
In January, Bebe received the good news that she got two nominations and as expected, she was leaping for joy. However, that excitement turned into disappointment when her stylist called, informing her that no designer wanted to dress her for the important event because she didn’t belong to the size 0 to 2 show sizes.
Out of frustration, Bebe took it to Instagram to vent out and explained that she is a size 6 to 8. She lashed out on sizeist designers who seemed to say that being a size 8 will not make you beautiful.
After the revelation, her fans, colleagues, and even A-lister designers reached out to her and gave kind words. Big names, such as Christian Siriano and Moschino’s Jeremy Scott, talked to her because of what happened.
Some of those who initially turned her down had a change of heart after her clip went viral, the songwriter further shared. The Say My Name singer explained that she didn’t anticipate the overflowing support she had received.
On Jan. 26, Bebe stunned in a Monsoori red tulle dress that certainly was a scene-stealer.
